When Baseball and Music Came Full Circle
Growing up in Detroit, if I wasn't sitting at the piano, I was usually doing one of two things...
...playing baseball with my friends at Reid Park...
...or riding the bus to Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers' 1968 World Series championship left a lasting impression on me. I never imagined that decades later those two passions—music and baseball—would intersect.
Then, many years later, something happened that I never could have imagined.
One of my orchestral compositions, This Great Land, was selected by FOX Sports to underscore the Morgan Freeman military tribute produced for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game.
I'd actually written the piece years earlier. Like so much production music, it quietly waited until the right story came along.
